Our Optometric practice opened in Irvine in 1977, making us one of the original medical offices in the city. Our longevity and success has been a result of word-of-mouth referrals, and a constant quest for excellence in patient service and satisfaction. By staying current through medical continuing education, staff training, new technology, and the latest in optical lenses, eyewear, and contact lenses, we hope to provide you with the finest eye care available.
Dr. Art Corish has been in private practice in Irvine for over 30 years. He is a native of Southern California, received his B.A. degree from UCLA, and his B.S. and O.D. degrees from the Southern California College of Optometry, where he was an Assistant Clinical Professor for over 25 years. While a student, Dr. Corish received a number of scholarship and leadership awards, was elected to the Gold Key Optometric honor fraternity, and is listed in Who’s Who in American Colleges and Universities.
Dr. Corish is a member of the American, California, and Orange County Optometric Associations. He has served as President of the Optometric Care Council of Southern California, President of the Orange County Optometric Society, and holds a Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry. He also served for a number of years as a member of the board of directors of Vision Service Plan, the nation’s largest vision insurance company. Dr. Corish has been a lecturer in continuing education for the College of Optometry and the California Optometric Association, and is proud to have been a part of a number of science-related programs with the Irvine School District. In addition, Dr. Corish has been a clinical investigator for a number of companies, testing and advising on new contact lens designs and contact lens solutions. For over 20 years, Dr. Corish has also donated his services at the Laguna Beach Community Clinic, screening and treating high-risk patients who, otherwise, might not receive the care they need.
Dr. Corish lives here in southern Orange County with his wife of over 30 years, Norma, an instructional assistant in Irvine Unified School District’s programs for developmentally disabled children, and their dogs Annie and Maggie, who accompany Norma to local hospitals for pet therapy sessions with rehabilitating adults and children.
Robin Aleong has been a part of our team since 1992, and has worked in the optical industry since 1983. Robin wears many hats being in charge of our optical department. She selects and purchases all the frames we have for our patients to choose from, and measures, orders, and assures the accuracy of all our eyeglass prescriptions. Robin prides herself on being able to find just the right style for each patient, and keeps on top of all the current trends in the industry.
Robin grew up in Huntington Beach, and now lives in Corona with her husband, Akian. They have a married son, Akian Jr., and two little ones at home, who happen to be of the feline persuasion.
Carey has been with us since 1998. She has more than 20 years of experience in the optical business, and performs a wide variety of duties here in the office. Carey handles most insurance verification, office billing, is our “computer expert,” performs preliminary testing on our patients, trains new contact lens patients on “how-to,”, and is excellent at assisting with eyeglass frame selections and adjustment. Carey is also our “cheerleader” of sorts, arranging “theme” days in the office (usually revolving around food!) to keep us smiling.
Carey lives in Seal Beach with her husband Travis and their irresistible twins, Kal and Emmi, born in 2012!
Sandra started with us in 2008. A Medical Assistant, Sandra has spent many years in health care offices, and has a wealth of experience in customer service and public relations, as well. You will find Sandra at the front desk when you call or come in, specializing in medical billing as well as helping our patients with a variety of needs in the office.
Sandra enjoys spending time with John, her husband of over 25 years, her adult son Johnny, her teenage daughter Zoe, and Jarrod, her cat.
Tiffany is the newest member of our team, joining us in 2012. She has a number of years of experience in the optical industry, from working in spectacle fabrication labs to helping patients in offices like ours. Tiffany performs initial testing on our patients, helps with frame selection and adjustments, as well as training our new contact lens wearers in proper care and hygiene.
Tiffany is from Orlando, Florida, and now lives in Costa Mesa with her husband Mark and her adorable daughter, Alyssa.
